The ring, which appears in close-up throughout the film, was handcrafted by jeweler Heidi Nahser Fink.
It is an emblem of the Atreides Duke’s power. The deal for Arrakis is sealed with this ring. It is with this ring that Duke Leto imprints his signature in gold wax.

As with many of the film’s props, there’s a story behind the ring’s creation. Initially, the ring was designed and created in 3D modeling. It seemed like it would have to be printed or 3D milled and replicated, but no, Hollywood took a different approach. The filmmakers decided the ring should have the warmth of human hands. Heidi painstakingly crafted the signet ring over several months. However, it turned out that five rings had to be made for filming as backups, which complicated the process. The ring is made of gold and silver. The signet bears the Atreides crest, featuring a falcon. At the top of the ring is the inscription “Here I am, here I will remain” in the Atreides language.
