Finn Jensen – Norwegian artist and designer

Finn Jensen was a Norwegian artist and designer who specialized in creating vintage jewelry, including pieces using guilloche enamel.
He trained with J. Trostup and was officially certified as a jeweler in 1941.
In 1944, joining forces with Knut Aamodt, he acquired Martin Lande’s workshop in Oslo, which he transformed into the company Jensen & Aamodt.

Since 1953, Finn Jensen has been the sole owner of the Finn Jensen company, independently producing jewelry using guilloche enamel.
His work was inspired by the work of David Andersen, a prominent figure in the Norwegian school of jewelry art.
He died in 1976, but his workshop in Oslo continued to operate after his death.

Each Finn Jensen piece was hallmarked “Norway Sterling 925S” and a triangle-shaped symbol—the designer’s signature symbol.
Guilloche enamel was the basis of production. The name derives from the French word “guilloche,” which refers to complex patterns of flowing or geometric lines created by engraving on metal. Transparent enamel applied over these patterns gave the pieces a deep texture and play of light.

Color schemes and iridescent effects were achieved through the use of various patterns—waves, radial lines, stripes, hatching, and checkerboard motifs.
