Oscar Heyman & Brothers

This family of nine siblings, immigrants from Russia, moved to New York in 1906. Two brothers, Oscar and Nathan, served apprenticeships at the Fabergé factory, while another brother was an accomplished toolmaker. Together, they founded the jewelry company Oscar Heyman & Brothers in 1912.

Oscar, Nathan, and Harry Heyman founded the company in 1912 in New York City. They were later joined by their three younger brothers, George, William, and Louis, and two sisters, Frances and Lena. Today, Oscar Heyman is run by the second and third generations of the family.

The brothers were master platinumsmiths who used only the finest diamonds and colored gemstones. It’s worth noting that in the 1930s and 1940s, the company produced high-end jewelry for iconic brands such as Tiffany & Co., Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, and others. Flower brooches became the company’s signature. The hallmark includes “HB” or “OHB” (Oscar Heyman Brothers). However, unmarked pieces require authentication by specialists.

Traditionally, jewelers used old-fashioned toolmaking techniques and finely crafted platinum and gold metals.
Founded in 1912, the company continues its operations.
